Christine LeVeaux Haley

Christine LeVeaux Haley is an award-winning political science professor and former Assistant Dean of the Honors College at the University of Houston. She received her bachelor’s degree from Spelman College and her doctorate from Louisiana State University.


Christine teaches classes in American Government and Black Politics. She led the effort to establish an Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Houston and developed an oral history program through which community children were invited to the University of Houston to present their projects.


She has published in scholarly journals including Legislative Studies Quarterly and Political Research Quarterly.


She has also appeared as a political commentator on Houston affiliates of ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS as well as CNN.
