Chloe Angyal

Chloe Angyal is the author of Turning Pointe: How a New Generation of Dancers is Saving Ballet From Itself (Bold Type Books, 2021), which Publisher’s Weekly called “a captivating debut.” Her writing about gender and power has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, New York magazine, Marie Claire, and The Atlantic.


Chloe has a PhD in Media Studies from The University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, where she grew up; her dissertation was about romantic comedies. She lives outside Iowa City, where she is a senior editor at VICE News.
